Where do I live?

To start the the term we will be taking a close look at maps.  This will include starting with our classroom, our school and our town.  We will find out where we are in the UK and where we are in the world by taking a look at our school on Google Earth.  

Our chosen text in English this half term is Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers and fits in with thinking about where we are from.  As part of our Design Technology curriculum we will be making a boat for the penguin to travel back to the Antarctic in, out of junk materials.

We will also introduce the children to our geographical objectives relating to where the Arctic and Antarctic is located in the world.

Enrichment

As part of our topic we will be taking a walk around our loacal area and thinking about the features of our town from a geographical point of view.  Thinking about human and physical features.

We will also enjoy a Happy Feet dance workshop linked to our Lost and Found Text
