Who was Zachariah Green?
This half term we will be learning about Hucknall in the past. We will be thinking about what the different parts of the town would have looked like 100 years ago. We will compare what the shops were like and what they look like on the High Street now! We will learn about the difference between school life now and in the 1950's. We will think about the toys, the classroom, the uniform and we will learn all about the old Butler's Hill School on Hankin Street!
In particular we will learn about Zachariah Green a local Hucknall healer that was famous for giving medicine to the poor and making a difference to our local community.
To finish off the half term we will visit Titchfield park where we will draw maps of the human and physical features, comparing it to Titchfield Park years ago, where they had a boating lake!

Reading for pleasure is so important to us in Year 2. Each half term we focus on key texts that we enjoy as a class. We all learn to read it, create work around it and most importantly enjoy it!
