A very warm welcome to Nursery (Foundation Stage 1) from Miss Chumun, Miss Richards, Miss Draper and Miss Parkin.
The following pages will hopefully provide you with as much information as possible. However, if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns please see a member of the Nursery staff at the beginning or end of the day, by Dojo or by phoning the school office.
We are looking forward to a brilliant year in Foundation 1!
Miss Chumun
Hello! I am the Nursery Teacher and FS1 lead and from September I will be taking the lead of Art for the school. I have been at Butlers Hill for 10 years working in Reception, Year 1 and Nursery and I have also covered for a short time in Year 2.
I am so lucky as I've always wanted to teach, inspire and build confidence in children. I am passionate about and love being in the Early Years. The children's curiosity, love for learning and the exploration of the world around them always keeps me on my toes and I love that, it inspires me! My favourite thing to teach and extend children in is their understanding of the world and their creativity, which can happen anywhere and in any lesson!
When I'm home I love to explore new places with my little family, dancing in the rain and watching thunderstorms. When not out and about I enjoy baking and trying new recipes. Family and friends mean everything to me so after these last couple of years I cant wait to see everyone together, I might even bake them a delicious treat!
Miss Draper
Hello, I am Miss Draper and I'm a keyworker for Yellow group in Nursery. I have worked at Butlers Hill since 2018 and I love my job, working with the children in Nursery. I love to follow the children's interests in their play, to really engage them in their learning, developing and enhancing it. I enjoying watching watching all the Nursery children grow in confidence and learn new things ready for their next adventures into reception. I really like getting messy in Nursery and exploring in our mud kitchen, making yummy soups and stews.
I have a little boy called Jonah and in our spare time we like to visit the local park and go on muddy walks in the woods. One of my favourite books to read is 'Pirates in the Supermarket' by Timothy Knapman. I love the rhyming words in this book and finding the pirates hiding in the pages. Jonah and I like looking for pirates when we go shopping in Tesco just incase they've decided to pay us a visit!
Mrs Richards
Hello, I am the keyworker for Red group in Nursery.
Miss Parkin
Hello, I'm the Personal Care assistant for the school, however I am based in Nursery as support for 1:1 children too.
Our Mission Statement
Our Mission statement is to create a diverse and creative learning environment where children can feel free to be individuals, curious, independent, confident and resilient learners. It is our passion and we hope you share it with us.
