A very warm welcome to Nursery (Foundation Stage 1) from Miss Chumun, Miss Horton, Mrs Bramall and Miss Jones.
The following pages will hopefully provide you with as much information as possible. However, if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns please see a member of the Nursery staff at the beginning or end of the day, by Dojo or by phoning the school office.
We are looking forward to a brilliant year in Foundation 1!
Miss Chumun
Hello! I am the Nursery Teacher and Keyworker for Blue group, FS1 lead and Art Lead for the school. I have been at Butlers Hill for 10 years working in Reception, Year 1 and Nursery and I have also covered for a short time in Year 2.
I am so lucky as I've always known that I wanted to teach, inspire and build confidence in children. I am passionate about and love being in the Early Years. The children's curiosity, love for learning and the exploration of the world around them always keeps me on my toes and I love that and it inspires me too! My favourite thing to teach and extend children in is their understanding of the world and their creativity, which can happen anywhere and in any lesson!
When I'm home I love to explore new places with my little family, dancing in the rain and watching thunderstorms. When not out and about I enjoy baking and trying new recipes. Family and friends mean everything to me so after these last couple of years I am loving meeting up with everyone, I might even bake them a delicious treat!
Miss Horton
Hello! I am Miss Horton and a keyworker for Red group in Nursery.
I have worked at Butlers Hill for over 25 years and I have had the opportunity to work with each year group and now I am in nursery again - I am so excited!
I believe that every child is unique and have their own talents and individuality. I want to help them grow to be happy, confident and develop the skills they need to become whatever they want to be, whether that is a teacher, a scientist, an artist or even a rock star or astronaut – if you can dream it, you can be it!
Mrs Bramall
Hello! I am new to the Butler’s Hill family, having only joined in Spring 2023! However, I have over 12 years’ experience working in education as both a primary school teacher and teaching assistant. I am so excited to continue my career as a keyworker in Nursery. I am particularly passionate about Early Years’ and feel very lucky to play a part in shaping the futures of the youngest children in school. There is nothing better than seeing a child’s face light up with joy when they have made an exciting new discovery and to be able to observe the awe and wonder they feel daily, is such a privilege. I love supporting children’s learning through their play and providing children with new and exciting opportunities and experiences that will support a love for life-long learning. I love that when working in Early Years everyday is a new adventure waiting to be grabbed, and that the wonderful children we work with know how much fun there is to be had every single day!
In my spare time I am a keen long-distance runner, having ran many half-marathon races and a number of full marathons. It’s important to me to stay active so that I can keep up with my sports loving, active boys (and my cocker spaniel who has more energy than all of us and likes to join me on my runs!) When I am not running, I love eating delicious food (ideally cooked by someone else!) and spending time with my family. We love being outdoors in nature, walking or going for a bike ride.
Miss Jones
Hello, I am Miss Jones and I am a Personal Care Assistant and provide 1:1 support in Butlers Hill Nursery. I have recently joined the team and I cannot wait to learn more about the Nursery family and all the exciting things they do. I enjoy being a part of all the children’s learning journey, watching them learn, develop and grow; however, I have developed a particular interest in supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
I love learning and taking part in all of the children’s fascinating activities such as their messy play, dancing and creative play. I love to inspire the children to try new things and become more creative in their play and their thinking.
Outside of Nursery, I enjoy exploring new places, I like to go on long drives to visit popular areas/buildings as they excite and interest me.
Our Mission Statement
Our Mission statement is to create a diverse and creative learning environment where children can feel free to be individuals, curious, independent, creative, confident and resilient learners. Where families are respected and valued, knowing that we work with them to support their children in whichever way they need. We are an inclusive and adaptive Nursery, who have a dedicated and passionate team, with the children in the forefront of their minds always.
It is our passion and we hope you share it with us.
